You can but it takes a bit of doing.  One side of the choke base (the hole)
is larger than the other!  I put the jacket in a vise, locked onto it with a
pair of vice grips about 3/4" back, and twisted it until it expanded to the
right diameter.  Trim it to proper length and it will screw right in.  The
old ones can be rather tight as they are crimped into place.
