Gary, there are a million opinions about the merits of mechanical versus
electronic fuel injection and there are dozens of people on this list,
if not more, with way more knowledge than this novice has about it.
Mechanical injection isn't exactly cheap, in very round numbers a new
Hilborn setup for a current V8 is around $2000 US for the injector and
the pump, plus whatever form of pump drive you choose from several. I
know nothing about the costs of a racing electronic fuel injection
setup.

I can tell you that Hilborn injection is used with all forms of
supercharging and all forms of fuel, and has been with great success for
over 50 years. Hilborn has a fine website with all their lines, plus
the theory and setup of the equipment, so that would be the place to
start. It also has their phone number if it is practical for you to
call them with tech questions. Search on Hilborn Fuel Injection, and if
you have any trouble finding it let me know and I'll look it up and give
you better ID. Cheers Bill
