Chris,
     You might want to consider some things about shade at Bonneville. The
association has a lot of experience getting shades to withstand the
unpredictable environment at both Bonneville and El Mirage.
      The results of this experience are:
Flat tops made from mesh with staked tie downs at ten foot intervals.

Flat tops because they don't act so much like wings in the wind.

Mesh material because it lets the air through.

Stakes not weights because the wind can really gust when a squall comes
through.

     Every year at least three canopies are sacrificed to the wind at the
salt. The first thing you should do after you put it up is to tie it down.
