I believe the C-119 originally came with the Pratt R-2800. Later models had
Wright 3350 engines and GE J85 turbines for some more push. Some C-119s were
fitted with a single Westinghouse turbine centered over the fuselage. Ardun
Doug may have seen TWA had one it used as an engine liner.
You may remember the early Pratt JT3C water wagon turbo jets with water
injection. Black smoke all over the place. Could easily stop traffic on
US101 if used taking off on 1R from SFO        Rich
