I think most of the time car trailers have too much rear overhang. After
several that I didn't like I built my own. It has a 17 foot deck with a 7
foot neck. The center of the tandem is about 6 feet from the back of the
trailer. I load my cars backwards and if I have to put weight up front I
use the equalizer bars to level. I tow with a single wheel 1 ton. Several
people told me when I built it that I would be unhappy. It has been the
best trailer I have ever had. You have to look in the mirror to check that
it is even there. I have hauled 10000lb load and hauled at 75 all day.
Just my take on it.
