In addition to only running it under X pounds boost, also consider 
leaving it off in lower
gears if your having a traction problem. The colder the water through 
five, the better.
Also if the AR is set for peak HP, the cooler can delay or prevent full 
boost.
This may be too complicated for you setup but I thought I'd mention it.
