old(er) technology is wonderful............
I get to spend more time with my son now,
as he was suspended from school, admonished by his math teacher who said :
"" I dont care how nifty you
are with that slide rule, if you cant get up to speed
in the time allotted you will fall behind the rest of the class""
but like many things in society, there is still hope.......
its called bringing everyone around you down to your level, and in this case
I have the fantastic "no child left behind" act in our favor........I am
confident that the teachers will see that its time to get rid of the
calculator and computers, and get everyone on the same playing field
................see I agued that we couldnt afford calculators, and that if
the students were to have to take
the exams in Iraq, they could get their slide rules to work
fairly quick............
how is the bike coming???
will the slide rule help you "get up to speed in the space allotted" :)
