As far as I know, and I do stand to be corrected,
the first of the MG's built labelled as a Midget, appeared in 1928 with
an OHC engine, considered to be very advanced for the time
I know of other Midgets in the 1930's under the PA or TA banners which
were similar to earlier models however they were powered by a 1292
Wolseley eng.
MCTC's were also labelled as Midgets circa 1945 with a 1250cc and
continued thru to TF's until 1954 (year?)
Frogeye's came in May 1958
Spridgets came in 1961 and ended production in Nov. 1979
Hope this clears things up in a brief manner
