ADD:

dust mask
respirator
ear plugs or ear muffs

torque wrench (beam type is just fine)
Flare nut wrench set
3/8 drive six point socket set
Nut driver set or screw driver handle for 1/4 drive sockets
Adjustible box wrench (I got mine way before the 'pocket socket')
Screw driver bits to fit 3/8 drive tools
battery charger
extension cords
portable electric drill (doesn't have to be expensive)
valve grinding tool
wire striper (knife works, but is more likely to nick wire)
body hammers and dollies
broken bolt removers ('easy out' is a misnomer')
bolt or wire cutter
heavy duty tin snips (all three types if you can afford it)
steel rule (6 and 12 inch)
protractor
center punch (make your own from broken pin punch)
brass drift punches
rolling pry bars
dead blow hammer
soft faced hammer
small ball peen hammer
tweezers
croquet hook
grease injection needle
grinding wheel dresser
shop vacuum (needed for blast cabinet, too.)

Major expenses:
 4 1/2 inch angle grinder
saber saw with metal cutting blades
air driven die grinder
drill bit sharpening tool to use with bench grinder
