Wow, been a few years since we had a gas price thread... What's next, the
return of the cat thread?! ;-)

Like many others, we're adapting our habits to the new reality. My wife
drives my Audi to work now, at 23 mpg, instead of our 16 mpg Windstar minivan,
which we still need to truck the 5 of us around the Northeast 5 - 6 times a
year. Besides, it's paid for..... And now that I've fixed my low oil pressure
issue with the '76B, that is my around-town errand car. Fortunately, I work
from home.....

Here in NJ, we tend to pay less for a gallon than many states, and still
don't have to dirty our hands - all full-serve here - so I am not complaining
too much. Of course, it's irritating when you read about record profits of the
oil companies, knowing that they are passing ALL of the price increase plus
some additional on to us. But realistically there is nothing I can do about
it. So, I think about our friends in other countries whose prices are going up
from a higher starting point, and consider myself relatively lucky.

Wonder if my wife would ride a motorcycle to work?
