Subject: [MGS] Connecting a Trickle Charger

Two weeks ago I went to start my MGA and all I got from the
starter was the vrump... vrump of a dead battery. The car
had been laid up since July with a disintegrated differential,
and obiously had to be flatbedded in to be repaired, so
this was really only the second time I had started it
in almost a year. It did eventually kick over and I drove it
about 10 miles, then parked it. Now, two weeks later,
same thing. I suppose I should keep a trickle charger on
it until I can put some real miles on it to give it a
good charge, so my question is:

Would it be OK to connect the charger to the wire coming
to the starter switch, and ground, rather than tear into
the battery box to connect it? This would make connecting
and disconnecting it a lot quicker and easier, but would
the "reverse" current flow to the battery harm anything
along the way?

Thanks!
