Yes, you can do it, BUT you might wish you never started!

The body frame is very different, the scuttle, bonnet, (hood), doors,
hood frame, (I don't know the american), roof in general are all
different as well, varying from the subtle, a taller windshield, to the
brutal, a complex hood frame!

If the whole body is in a poor state, requiring replacement, then you
may as well do it- but the task will be much more involved than it would
at first appear. 

Somewhere in my heap of "Classic and Sportscars" there is an article on
a gentleman who did just that and the Chair of my local MOG club changed
his 2 seat 4/4 to a 4 seater.
