A former curator at the museum in Stoney Brook, New York, is considered the 
last word in carriage building,  coach painting and coach painting touch-up. He 
has written an extremely  detailed book on all aspects called THE RESTORATION 
OF CARRIAGES. His name is Isles and I beleve you can find his book through a 
search on amazon.com or barnes&noble or at worst, call the museum.
