It could be that you are "swamping" the evaporator...when enough liquid
refrigerant enters the evaporator, that it cools down below the boiling
point of the refrigerant, the evaporator "fills up" and the
evaporation/cooling happens in the return line....typical of too much flow,
or too much refrigerant in the system, or not enough air flow across the
evaporator....

Just finished installing my "Old Air Products" a/c. I had it checked and
charged by a so-called "expert". It's weird but it's icy cold at idle and

low compressor rotation at idle. Had it checked again, by the same guy, and

leaks etc. The belt is not "rock tight" but it's not slack either. Any
