Amen to that, The average house in Central CT (Wallingford, Cheshire,
North Haven, Meriden, Durham, etc.) in 1958 was in the area of $20,000.
"Executive" homes were approximately $50,000 at that same time.

Stamford, Greenwich, Westport, i.e. Fairfield County is in many ways an
aberration. Especially Greenwich. It doesn't relate to the real world.
Stand on the street in Greenwich and the average car is of some German,
Italian, or other exotic origin (Rolls, Bentleys, Ferrari's, Aston's,
Porsche's, etc.). The largest Audi dealer in the States is in Greenwich.
The latest fad there is stone walls. Do the math on how much it costs to
erect a stone wall around the perimeter of your multi-acre property!!!
Some restaurants in Greenwich are $130.00 a plate!

A friend of mine said many years ago, "They should just lop-off
Fairfield County from Ct and give it to NY because it has nothing to do
with the State of CT." Of course, he said the same thing about NYC and
Long Island in relation to Upstate NY.
