as most can see by looking on my web site, my alpine is truly stripped bare. I
DOES NOT weigh anywhere  near 750 lbs. I have no trouble lifting one end by
myself. I believe the number of 350/400 lbs is probably correct. But add the
doors, hood, and rear deck lid and the weight is up. I use an engine hoist and
nylon rope to lift and change positions and as you all see, I have great
access to the underside.... But, I wouldn't strip the car, turn it over, just
to change the muffler bearings. Only for really serious work underneath.  For
a long time, I just had the car sitting on it's furniture dolly, resting on
it's side (aka 90 deg) on two old truck tires. The tires were placed at the
front of the rear fender well and just aft of the front well. These seem to be
body hard points. No skin damage and it works real good to get at the goo and
stuff that lives under there. I have maybe 30 bucks in my dolly and tires...
