Cliff,
You are probably experiencing more than just weeping on the rod down by the
clutch and also up at the master cylinder. You probably have a slow leak
around the seals in BOTH locations. If you have no fluid in the reservoir,
you have a leak.
Pull back the carpet under the clutch at the firewall. Chances are really
good that you have a leak at the back of the master cylinder. Best way to
tell for sure is missing or bubbling paint, as paint does not like brake
fluid.
You will probably find you need a rebuild kit or you will need to send them
out to a competent shop....a Brit if not a Tiger specialist. Girling is
Girling. It is HIGHLY recommended that you rebuild BOTH master and slave at
the same time. If one fails, the other will follow shortly.
As I recall Sunbeam Specialties and Classic Sunbeam both stock the rebuild
kits and Rick and Curt are good people.

Hi Guys,
My Tiger clutch has gone south. It is engaging in the bottom 1/2 inch
of travel. I found that the hydraulic reservoir way empty. I have
refilled it, but the clutch did not improve. I figure that I need to
bleed it. I looked under neat and did not see any puddles on the floor.
I did find a slight bit of weeping where the rod exits the rubber seal
down by the clutch. Before I crawl under there and try and bleed it I
wanted to ask the group what their thoughts were. I have only had the
car for a little over a year and this is my first clutch problem.
Any tips or advice will be appreciated.
