Mark,

I think that on the 1972 and earlier models the emissions data was on a
plate pop-rivited to the front LH inner fender.

As a side note, on my 1970 TR6, when I was stripping it down, I looked for
my commission plate on the B post but none was to be found!   Later I
discovered that what was supposed to be my emission plate on the front
inner fender was in fact my commission plate.  I guess this was correct for
non North American TR6s.

Strangely I have only two rivet holes on the top inside fender on the
drivers'side(LHD). I bought the car in 1986 and it was like that. I always
assumed it was some sort of metal nameplate that went there. The chassis ID
is on a silver metal strip riveted to the firewall on the right-hand side.
So what is supposed to go on top of the left wheel arch of a 1972 TR6
cc83453O ?
