Because that 4 liter straight six in the jeep is a screamin' demon. That's
why. I have a cherokee and it flat flys, has gotten me in trouble more than
once down the highway, and pins me back in the seat pretty well on a hard
launch. 50 extra pounds for another 1.5 liters isn't such a bad trade off,
not to mention the ponies and torque. Probably a lot easier to find, and
cheaper than a Beemer motor.
