This is a really good tip Robert. Thanks for that!

Thinking about it, if I were to run into this, I might try fitting a 
spacer inside the angle drive at the gearbox attachment side to take up 
the needed distance. Something similar to a garden hose washer trimmed 
to fit inside the screw cap on the angle drive.

Again, I haven't done it, it's just a thought.
