It seems to me that if they put the 325i in GS, you'd get people in that
class complaining because now they won't be as competitive with another
6-cyl that handles well in their class.  Granted, I've seen a well driven
Integra Type R beat every BMW at an event, including all the M3s.  I agree
with what you suggest - isn't fair competition the reason for classes? - but
fear of the backlash is probably why it hasn't happened.
