Unless you have a Triumph, of course.  The handbrake works opposite:  You
use the button when you put the brake ON.  To release the brake, just give
the lever a pull and let go.  So for a pro-solo launch, you would hold the
brake lever, then release it at the appropriate time.  No button-fumbling
required.

Of course the thought of my launching my TR4 at a Pro Solo brings on
hysterical laughter...
