Doesn't anyone read the rulebook any more? Gregg starts it and then a bunch
of others "surmise"...

Sections 3.1, 13.0 and Appendix A have all the answers...

o 1000 in a 12-month period allows you to run Stock even without specific
classing.

o Specific classing can be done for any car, as can specific exclusion.
Numbers don't specifically matter, but are certainly taken into
consideration. But there is no guarantee one way or the other.

o Car must be specifically classed to be eligible for Divs and Nats.

o Next-year model designated cars can't compete in Divs, Tour,& Nats unless
specifically classed.

o Note also that the release period for the Elise is dangerously close to
the July FastTrack cutoff for eligibility for Nats. When you consider the
lead-time for the publication process, and the deliberation time required to
move through both the SAC and the SEB, you find that there's precious little
time to evaluate the new car. All of this points to conservative initial
reaction.

PS: Since you guys are going to debate this anyway, you might also consider
how the C6, C6 Z06, and the '04 S2000 all fit into the mix with the Elise
and the existing SS/AS cars. And do so without adding new classes (that's a
cop-out).
