Are you sure it's coming out from the cover?  On the block, right behind the
motor mount, there is a bolt that goes into the oil galley.  If the bolt is
loose or the copper washer is bad, oil can come out at a pretty good rate.
This would expalin it pumping out at high revs.  I had the one behind the
starter do this, since it's hard to see it behind the starter and fuel pump
I thought it was the oil pan gasket. I only found out what it really was
after I replaced the oil pan gasket.
