Thanks for the info, I'd seen the manuals: the Triumph workshop manual
stated "Castrol GTX", the same as the motor oil. Haynes suggested a variety
of brands all of which were EP gear oil, the same as for the diff., not a
good idea!
I was just wondering what other people use.

Cox and Buckles in the UK recommend Castrol ST-90 for all TR gearboxes, I
guess this is the same weight as EP-90 (used in the diff.) but without the
EP additive. Apparently there was a lot of discussion on this subject in
the TR Register magazine. Anyone remember the conclusions?
