Just a thought-
The SU carbs are generally mounted with composite "isolater blocks" between
the carbs and the intake manifold, to isolate the carbs from transmitted
engine heat.  (at least they are on the 3 and 4.)  It would seem that one
could machine isolator blocks from some kind of composite to provide the
correct angle.  The problem then would be to change the studs on the intake
manifold for mounting the carbs to the right angle, (or replace them with
bolts that meet the manifold at the right angle.)  This would seem to be
within the capability of any competent machine shop.  Again, just a thought-
I work on 3's, not 6's.
