I think it's the combination of not having to worry about oil,
and the "replace your old, bizarre and by implication inferior
British hardware with easy to understand old American
hardware" syndrome. Kinda the thing that makes 3/4 of the MGB
drivers in the world go to poorly set up Webers instead of
rebuilding their bizarre CD carbs...
