  For a data point, a 50W electric fan is about the
usual size for an around the house reciprocating
1970's style fan. The kind that keep people cool and
wave back and forth, about the diameter of a pizza.

  18hp is over 10,000W.

  I suspect the actual consumption is between the
two somewhere but a lot closer to 50W than 10000W.
