It's down to the fact that British infantry used to march on the Left
side of the road! Napoleon was a rabid anti-Brit (and paid for it!!) and
ensured everything he did was different to the Brit way of thinking.
This means Right hand roads, metric/continental system etc.
Those with right hand roads were probably nobbled by napoleon, sided
with him or have no free will! sweden i think changed over and the first
month was the safest on record, the second month however was the worst
for accidents apparently. perhaps no-one told the Elks/reindeer etc!!
