In a message dated 98-09-16 10:14:56 EDT, you write:

<< My '59 TR-3A has a "windscreen washer" apparatus that operates by means of
a
bulb-like object on the instrument panel. The driver would simply apply
pressure to the bulb to cause fluid to be dispatched to the windscreen. By
modern standards it is extremely primitive, which means it seems to be
perfectly appropriate for a vintage Triumph. My question to the list is
whether this is likely to be an original item, a dealer added item, or some
sort of blue light special after-market item.

I have heard of a windscreen washer pump in a very few TR3's. It was basically
the same as TR4 pumps, a hand push knob contraption, and typically mounted in
the dash in the area between the "cubby box" (glovebox in Amerispeak) and the
instrument cluster towards the bottom. Your ""bulb" pump sounds like a blue
light, as you call it.
Snce the factory parts book lists the animal I would assume it was a factory
option. But not a very attractive one, IMHO.
