If it's not leaking (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) a reverse high pressure wash and
blow through would be a good idea. AFA a new core is concerned, I should
think it's long overdue for one. It might make it look non-original but
what's preferable - non-original look or proper cooling efficiency. I'd go
for a re-core.
