This Fram thread has run through many of the car lists the past several
years. I don't doubt the word of people who have used the product for
decades (myself included) suddenly encountering masses of defective filters.
And guess what? The rash of failures coincides exactly with Fram's decision
to move the majority of it's manufacuting "offshore". Ahh, that corporate
euphemism for stiffing the American workers that put the quality in your
product! Fram used to be an entirely USA built product. Now it's just a
name stamped on a box, the contents coming from who knows where.
This is the direct result of what happens when the price of the corporations
stock price is the sole focus of a thier existence. The product becomes a
means to an end- an ever increasing stock price, instead of being a
profitable item that fits the need of the customer.
