Can't say that I have ... I've had the 8-pt socket for a long time so no
reason to use the wrong tool.

Someone else mentioned the hex head magnetic plug from TRF ... I use those
for drain plugs (they're original equipment for the Stag).  But they're
quite a bit taller than the original fill plugs, and there's no room to use
one as the fill plug on my Stag.  Might be OK on the TRs, though.

McMaster Carr has a wide variety of plug styles, I still prefer the hex
socket plugs I got from them for fill plugs.
