Well Paul is right about the R&P conversion, and yes it is expensive!  It's 
one of those subjective things however and you can see from the posts that 
it goes both ways:-)

I'm putting a Ford 302 V8 in my TR3 like Paul and Tom and did it as an 
upgrade path to ensure that I would have easy steering despite any weight 
changes, and also because it is already setup for use with UV joints unlike 
the solid TR3 steering shaft which makes it easier to change the steering to 
avoid the new engine.  I drove it with the original car and loved it.  I did 
a wheel/tire/front sway bar conversion at the same time and the car handles 
like it's on rails. Wheels are Panasport and the tires are Bridgestone 190's 
I think. For you bigger guys the smaller wheel you can use might be 
appreciated, but I know some good sized gents drive TR3's with no problems 
using the original wheel - right guys :-)
