Vance,

My car has already been updated with a GM alternator, though I may need
to rewire it a slightly different way. As for wiring issues, I have
received one response directly that has suggested how they need to be
wired. Everyone may just hear from me again when I am ready to install
everything into the car. I may need the collective list wisdom to make
sure I get it right the first time.

      Aaron:

How much current do they draw, and will you need to upgrade your
alternator and or wiring?
Modern cars have 100+ amp alternators, while our cars are 25-30(?)
amperes. Seems like a
significant project if one is to keep the prince of darkness at bay
while using them.

Hi List:

Well, the original question sure has generated more responses than I
would have guessed. I have never owned heated seats in any vehicles I
have owned before and until last year when I purchased KN wheels for
the TR6 I had never had alloy wheels. I have purchased a set of seat
heaters from autowarm and will install them when I rebuild my old seats
that are now out of the car. Here in Maine though the driving weather
can be quite different than other parts of the country. I can remember
a year when it was warmer on Jan 4th then it was on July 4th(56 vs.
54). Installing them will be as more for my passenger than myself. I
am more likely to put the top down early and late in the season when if
I have a passenger in the car they might be a bit uncomfortable and a
seat heater might make the difference between them enjoying the ride
and thinking they cant wait until its over. My thanks to all who have
responded with information, pricing, opinions, Mark with photos and
especially those with humor.

Cheers.
