I am assembling a racing TR5 with OD. Want to put the OD switch on the gearshift lever. Does anyone have a recommendation on what is the best way to do this? Did any Triumphs come this way? Thanks, C

Chuck, I have one on my TR6 and screwed around with it quite a bit. I tried modifying a TR6 lever and installing a knob from a MGB. That didn't work well at all. I then located a Stag lever and knob.

I did this for a while with just a good toggle switch in a small piece of aluminum taped to the lever. Worked fine, but I found there were times I didn't want or couldn't take my hands off the wheel

Peyote had what looked like an aftermarket turn signal switch mounted so you could reach it with your hands on the wheel. It struck me as a good way to shift the overdrive, but I've never had one, so

Chuck: In the Randy Williams' TR3A I used the TR3 shift lever which has a hole coming into the side below the boot level, and going up through the center all the way to the knob. I took a wood knob,

The street Triumph I usually drive is a Stag with OD, so I am very familiar with the OD switch in the knob. As Charlie said, the lever is quite a bit longer, not sure I would like it in my race car.

I used this Summit switch in my car. You can reach it with your fingertips if positioned correctly. I also added a bulb circuit so I could "remember" better. Worked in my old car and should work fine

Having driven trucks for many years with 2 speed axles, I really like the push-pull type on the shifter stalk. I split shift every gear except first and it makes it pretty handy. Mounted just under t
