- I'll defer to a better informed lister if someone replies, but DOT 3 would be safest. DOT 4 may rot seals. DOT 5 is expensive if you have a leak and not as useful in clutch applications as brakes. Qu

- So if my fluid is purple (which I am pretty sure it is) I shouldn't have topped up with the stuff I did - which I think was standard stuff. And the PO replacing the standard pipes with copper wasn't

- No, James, topping up with normal brake fluid if the system is currently full of silicone was not a good thing to do!! I have a feeling you may need to clear out ALL the fluid in the system at the mo

- Whatever you do, don't use an Eezibleed with a fully inflated tyre - drop the pressure to 5 or at most 10psi before connecting. Otherwise there is a good chance that the cap will be blown off the mas
