Jeff, it he relay the typical R6A relay? (3 terminal) ...just went out and looked at my GT6 which uses a relay for the horns..... sitting here as well with a '75 Spit schematic in hand... +12V feeds

Sounds like you may have the connections wrong on the relay. If the relays are exactly like the originals, then there should be 3 labeled connectors on the relay: W1, C1, and C2. W1 connects to the
