While at the machine shop today saw an article on 1275 cranks which claimed that these cranks had to much weight around the journal center lines. That this extra weight caused uneven bearing wear. I

Is that what Vizard calls "wedging" the crank? I've seen this in "the book" and you might find a picture on http://www.aptfast.com APT does this for a nominal fee (please define nominal since nominal

Vizard talks about the uneven bearing wear of high mileage 1275s in his book on page 368 of the 2nd edition. The solution is performed at APT by David Anton. It is called wedging. The counterweights

When I rebuilt my 1275, I took it to a machine shop, that did a 'dynamic' balance of the crank flywheel, and front pulley. They had a 'special' machine that the crank rested in, with a digital read o

I took a look at that web site...I think their prices are a little off! I think the Moss equiv. is a few bucks cheaper for the exact same parts. Dan Dwelley 77 Midget Alexandria, Va. Do You Yahoo!?

I have to agree with Paul. All of my dealing's with APT tell me that they are a 1st class operation. David Anton is more than willing to discuss a problem and offer insights as to the solution. Larry

No flames intended. I would not pay $9 for a thermostat either, no matter who was selling it. I had in mind some of their more unique parts and services. I bought some Weber parts from them for a li

I don't know the specifics, but I have a knife edge crank in the 948 race engine for the Bugeye vintage racer. The crank was done by Joe Huffaker and the counterweights do have a triangular shape. I

It is possible that the parts are not exactly the same and that the cheaper part is an inferior copy. If the price is dearer than Moss and the part is the same why not tell them and see what they say
