I thought the same thing on my 240Z, so one day after a couple of soda pops I broke out the hacksaw and cut it down without too much effort. Don't know if it's the same on our Roadsters, but might b

My dad's five speed shifter has been cut and threaded. It is almost impossible to tell the difference between first, third, and fifth gear. It causes many missed shifts. Imagine autocrossing, maxing

Hiya Andy; How much has it been cut down? I'm planning on about a 10 degree bend right above where it bolts into the trans. I have no worry about it 'rotating' - you get the bottom nut tight enough,

I do not think that bending it will cause an issue. Some Datsuns (not sure which model) used a bent shifter lever that is of the same design as the Roadster one - just bent. When it is tightened down

I've had a couple of shift levers in 4-speed 510's cut down and rethreaded and the mod works well. I'd think the best way to bend these things would be to heat the lever, bend it and then re-heat tr

True, but the 1500 shift lever does not interchange with the 1600/2000 type unit due to the mounting. (I have a 1500) The lever that I have is made just like the 1600/2000 model except that it is ben

While I'm not using a roadster trans, I'm real happy with my shift lever after not only cutting it down but bending it sideways so it "falls readily to hand." Bill Kenyon SRL311 KA
