True to form my my newly reborn A-type is leaking oil right on top of my "workmate" stand... before it even gets into the car. It is leaking from the big round brass cap that screws into the bottom

Paul, Thanks... I used the Blue Hylomar as a dressing for the paper gaskets during assembly. I used on the gearbox rebuild in '98 and it worked great. Irv Korey had a real blast of straight thinking

I have the exact same problem going on right now with a new A-type in my 71 TR-6. The only difference being that my trans is already in the car an leaking all over the floor. Misery loves company. A
