I just bought a 1958 TR3A and it ran fair until it got warmed up and then had incredible power loss--in fact we couldn't get it to run for more that 30-60 seconds and that was when really feathering

Sounds like your front carb is flooding. Take the air cleaner (s) off and feel below the carb to see if it's wet and/or if it's wet where the air enters the carb if so then it's definitely flooding.
