Can't help on the vinyl, but as to the dash color, I had the chance to look over an unrestored 1962 TR4 two years ago, and the dash was white. Rather surprised me, since the dash on my '63 is black -

I don't concours my steel dash `4. I painted mine black crackle finish when O first rebuilt it. I'm presently repainting the dash (black crackle is a bitch to keep clean) and have decided on doing it

Actually I just finshed some work on my dash and it was originally white painted metal with a burgundy vinyl around the trim area. I beleive that at least the color was original the vinyl seems just

Leif, the original wood dashes on the TR4's had nothing behind them. The old finished metal dash pieces were eliminated. if I remember correctly - when I remove my wood dash there is just a skeletal

Oh no don't send me to concours!!!. That is a neat insight though. Have you ever seen the vinyl edging to the white dash. Burgundy on a signal red seems dreadfully tacky but . . . Thanks
