Maybe weak threads, but the threads that were left further in were plenty 
strong...longer bolt to the rescue...took plenty of torque too!  I'm in the 
middle of fitting a J-Type tranny to a TR250 frame using a Rimmer Bros.  
"adapter"...will let everyone know how it turns out...probably publish 
something to 6-pack
