It's worse than that.....many new cars have idiot gauges.

Ford got so many complaints about "low" oil pressure, most of their
gauges...are not!   If there is any oil pressure, they read OK.  My 97 5.0
Explorer oil pressure gauge never moves from mid scale while running.
