Wayne,
All I can offer is my experience with transmissions (all OD). I have had my
TR250 tranny rebuilt twice by a known professional and it still occasionally
jumps out of gear. The TR6 gearbox was a horror story rebuild with three
attempts at it till it was OK largely due to inferior replacement parts. It
still is a little hard to get into 2nd gear. Now the one in the TR4 was
purchased used, stuck in and works great. It is the best one I have. The TR3
(actually another TR4 all synchromesh) one was purchased used torn apart only
to fine it was in good condition, put back together and works great except
for a big leak at the OD adapter plate where a new gasket was installed,
TWICE! I personally am never going to touch another gearbox unless it is
flat out broke.

Cheers,
Darrell Floyd
