IF your Formula Ford is required to have a 6-point (I don't have a General
Competion Rules book or Formula Car spec book), it is only because the Solo2
FORMULA FORD is required to be GCR-legal with specific exceptions. Roll
bar, windscreen and mirrors are among the exceptions. If you think seat
belts should be among the exceptions, write your Solo Events Board. The
FORMULA FORD cars in CM are in many ways more restricted than in club
racing: You can't build your own car from the ground up like you can in
club racing. You can't make large body modifications like you can in club
racing. As far as I know, that's the way the majority of the class denizens
like it. If they didn't, they would probably try to get it changed.

The EM cars are held only to Solo2 seat-belt rules because there is no
association with the GCR or other clubs' rules.

It does not seem that bizarre to me. CM is a highly-regulated class. Many
people like that because it keeps costs down. No grenade engines, for
instance.

EM is a different kettle of fish. It is the repository for both hopped-up
street machines and truly wacko specials (and I like that in a car). GCR
requirements don't make a lot of sense in this environment. Accordance with
Solo2 rules and simple common sense is sufficient.
