I remember reading about a fellow up in your neck of
the woods doing an A2 platform syncgro Golf with a
VR6...was a pretty nice ride from what I heard.  It
wasn't really radical as far as the motor, but I bet
that car with one of the eip turbo or super chargers
would really go.
