I do believe Bruce Cambern has owned his Cobra since day 1. You could get a
289 Cobra for a mere $5000 when new, and even less during the early 70s before
the car nostalgia stuff kicked in. I didn't price the 427 because I thought
the 289 had plenty of power and the 427 was overkill. Didn't buy the 289
either--they lead when it rains--and would have had to be my only car. Did buy
the Lotus 7A so cheap that I could have two cars.
