First off, I'd like to say that no matter what anyone
thinks, this isn't addressed to any one particular
person, it's just an observation.

It seems that the question isn't about how much money
is spent on a car, it's how it's spent.

And it seems to me that no one is concerned with a
"mid-sixties" muscle car that costs $500k, because
they feel it isn't competitive, and they may have a
chance to beat said car.

If someone spent $500K on a factory works car, the
chances that they are going to get beat (with a
competent driver aboard) are slim, therefore, the
belly-aching becomes greater.

It's not the money, it's the same old problem that's
always been...Everyone wants a class where their car
is the most competitive, and when someone brings in a
better toy, everyone throws a tantrum.
